Rage 2 is a first-person shooter video game where you are thrown into a dystopian world devoid of society, law, and order that is inhabited by a warped collection of evil corporations, blood-thirsty factions and wild creatures. You play the role of a wasteland ranger named Walker who makes their presence known in the wasteland by befriending great leaders and obliterating anyone - or anything, that gets in the way. Rage 2 features vehicular combat that includes buggies, trucks, and gyrocopters which you can drive in the game's open world. Check out our Rage 2 walkthrough and guide to find out how to survive longer in this violent world.
Find the Arks
Make finding the Arks that are scattered throughout the wasteland your priority as this is vital to obtaining all the weapons and abilities in the game. To help you find the Ark locations you will need to talk to people in the hub cities and find clues in datapads.
Unlock Perks
You will make the game a lot easier if you unlock perks. Perks are earned from the Projects menu that relate to the three main characters you work with in the game - John Marshall, Dr Kvasir and Loosum Hager. Perk tiers become unlocked by completing missions and map markers relating to each of these character’s specialty. These are Kill & Destroy (pink), Search & Recover (blue) and Capture & Control (yellow).
Upgrade the Ranger Assault Rifle
The Ranger Assault rifle Walker starts with is the best all around weapon in the game. It deals good damage, has high accuracy with minimal recoil or spread and there is plenty of ammo scattered around for it. Upgrade this weapon as soon as you are able to so you increase its reload times, fire rate and magazine capacity, add armour breaking rounds and feed ammo back into the clip on kills.
Crafting Materials
Scattered throughout the world are crafting materials which you can use to craft Wingsticks, Grenades, Health Infusions, Overdrive Infusions, Ability Infusions and Turret Drones. To make these things you go to your inventory and craft them with the mechanical, electrical, chemical and explosive components you pick up as you play.
Buy Schematics
Buy schemetics whenever possible from vendors around the wasteland so you are able to upgrade your throwable items like Wingsticks, Grenades and Turret Drones.
Search for Feltrite
Always be on the lookout for Feltrite as you will need to spend these crystals to upgrade your weapons and abilities. Feltrite can usually be found in crates around the world, on enemies, and on meteorites that have crash-landed on Earth.
Get Extra Cash
If you are in need of some extra cash you can always sell your unwanted junk. Retailers in Wellspring, Gunbarrel, Oasis, Lagooney and Dreadwood will buy all that junk you’ve been hauling around in exchange for cold hard cash.
Unlock the Smart Rocket Launcher
You will be able to find the Smart Rocket Launcher early on in the game at the Strongbox Ark which is found in the ruins of a town called Strongbox which you will find if you head due east from Wellspring. You will need to get directly north of the Mutant Bash TV marker, then continue just a little further. By this point, you should see the town of Strongbox, or at least a question mark on your map. The Smart Rocket Launcher fires homing rockets and has an alternate fire mode that lets you paint multiple targets and launch swarms of smaller missiles at them. This weapon makers encounters with large enemies like bosses and the giant turret sentry Authority towers much easier.
Unlock the Icarus Gyrocopter
Get the Icarus Gyrocopter as fast as you can as this vehicle that is a cross between a giant drone and a motorbike will enable you traverse the world easily. The Icarus Gyrocopter is automatically unlocked in your inventory when you reach level 7, you will be able to call it in from the 'Vehicle' menu.
