I want to know if my PlayStation 3 is backwards compatible for PS and PS2 games. How do I find out about the backwards compatibility?

Only PS3 models from August 2007 and before can play disc based PS2 games. So if your PS3 is relatively new, chances are you can't play PS2 games on it. As far as I know, all PS3 can play PS1 games. You can also play PS1 and PS2 games downloaded from the PS Store.
