How to Enable PS Smoothing

Published by SuperCheats Staff on Sep 16th 2013
This setting will allow you to make some changes on how your PS3 plays old Playstation and PS2 games.

Notes

  • Some Playstation and Playstation 2 titles may perform differently on the PS3 than they do on their original platforms. Some of them may not play at all. If you encounter such issues, your best bet is to buy the PS3-ported title from the Playstation Network

  • Playstation 2 discs may not be playable on some PS3 systems. Refer to this article for more information.

PS Smoothing

  • Smoothing is not guaranteed to improve the quality of some titles. If there's a difference, sometimes it's not that noticeable.

  • In case the video quality is reduced after enabling this option, turn it off instead.

How to Change

  1. From your XMB Menu, select Settings
    Guide Image

  2. Select Game Settings then PS Smoothing
    Guide Image

  3. Select one of the options below
    Off Disable smoothing
On Enable Smoothing to reduce the roughness of the output display
