I had the same problem about a month ago. I tried everything I could. You have 2 options:
1. Have them quit their job and get the same one again (But that doesn't always work)
2. Move them into the family bin and put them back into their house.

I know they may be hard or extreme, but it's the only thing that works. I hope it works out!

Here's what worked for me. You'll need to activate boolprop for this to work:
1. Activate "boolprop testingcheatsenabled true" on the neighborhood screen.
2. Go to the family that you're having a problem with and spawn a new servo.
3. Activate the servo, and have your sim become best friends with him/her (you can drag the friendship bars all the way to the right).
4. Have your sim move out and move into an empty house.
5. Have the servo from the original house invite your main sim to move back in.
6. Move the servo out and delete him/her in the characters bin.

This solved the problem for me.
