Wants and fears for the sims change just like humans.Every few days several wants will change depending on your sims life track eg. Money,Pleasure,Romance.
Thats why you can lock specific ones that you want your sim to fufill and not change with time.Fears and wants are mostly to do with a sims partner or children besause they are most important, Though finicky sims will be more interested in furniture that costs a certain amount.With Children and teens it's usually built around family and friends.Wants and Fears make sims more individual and realistic because thats what makes us.

The wants change when you accomplish them and needs are on a daily basis. They also change when you go to bed sometimes. Fears can change when someone or something enters their life or when they experience a close encounter with something.

They change when they are accomplished, wake up from sleep or just going to a different lot.
