Import Families

How can you import your family from one neighborhood to another? I have the sims2 and all the expansion packs but I do not know how to import families! UGH

You have to move the house the family is living in into the houses bin. Then go to the neighborhood ou want to move them to and take the house out and put it were ever you want. The family will be moved with it!

The answer supplied by this user is correct. Families can be moved from one neighborhood to another by moving a lot that is occupied by the sims that you want to move (they will show up in the "Lots & Housing" bin as being an occupied lot. The downside to this is that the old neighborhood file, will now have a lot of references to unlinked characters -- among other oddities.

Bottom line: Moving sims, this way, from neighborhood to another is a bad idea. Only do it if you have no other choice.

The problem with moving sims from one neighbourhood to another is that they lose all their friends and memories of other sims, and all other sims loose memories of them.
