I am very new to this but I can't get him to reload any weapons the controller works what am I doing wrong

To reload your gun, press the RB button. A bar will come up by your weapon in the top corner. Once the line reaches the white part of the bar, press RB. If you hit the Bold white, you will get an active reload and damage is 2x now.

the second meeting with the berserker

You have to hit the Berserker multiple times until eventually you go into another room where you have to have the berserker break the pillars and then use the hammer of dawn where the piller was broken. If you like you could give me your gamertag and I could help you as I have beaten the game and it's sequel on insane atleast 4 times.

is there a better way of killing the Berserker?

You have to use the Hammer of Dawn....that's the only thing that can kill it.

Sometimes he will kill some enemies. But thats all he does. You can't do anything.
