Question for Pokemon White 2

Does anyone understand "egg groups"?
I see things like water 1, mineral, field, monster, fairy, amorphous, or water 2
I don't get it...
Please help!!!

Egg groups are basically the different Pokemon that can breed together. If you want the Pokemon to breed they have to be in the same egg group (unless they're ditto). Example = You can breed 2 Pokemon that are of the same "monster" group together, but not 1 "monster" and 1 "field" group.
