How to Unlock and Defeat Secret Monsters in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak

Completing the story in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak does not mean the end of the game. You now have the challenging task of raising your Master Rank so that it reaches 100. Once you have achieved this requirement you will be able to unlock all the secret monsters that are hidden in the post-game. Winged Serpent Ibushi

How to Unlock

To unlock Master Rank Winged Serpent Ibushi, you first need to reach Master Rank 20. You can do this after you beat the story's ultimate boss, Gaismagorm. To quickly unlock Master Rank Wind Serpent Ibushi, raise your Master Rank by redoing previous quests or farm materials from Elder Dragons.

Attacks and Moves

Wind Serpent Ibushi uses the following attacks in Low and High Rank quests.

- Tail Attacks

Uses its tail's long reach to attack the hunter in different ways.

- Charged Dragon Cannon

Fires a beam of dragon energy from its maw that can knockdown hunters caught in the crossfire.

- Dragon's Maw

A quick bite attack that can catch hunters comfortably positioned near Wind Serpent Ibushi's face.

- Updraft

Uses dragon energy to create updrafts that can fling hunters upward. Use this to your advantage by executing an aerial attack.

- Dragon Burst

A quickfire dragon breath attack that can fling hunters upward. This inflicts dragonblight so ready your Nulberries.

- Wind Burst Wave

A strong, multi-hit attack in a wide area that can KO an unaware hunter.

- Dragon's Corkscrew

Performs a corkscrew, damaging and launching anyone caught in the attack.

- Boulder Smash

Curls up into a ball, gathering large boulders before flinging it onto its target. In Rampages, this deals massive damage to the gate.

How to Hunt

Winged Serpent Ibushi possesses special organs called windsacs that store the gas it uses to float, and can be seen on its back, and tail. They are very delicate, and injuring them could open up a prime opportunity to attack.

Narwa the Allmother

How to Unlock

In order to unlock Master Rank Narwa the Allmother, you first need to reach Master Rank 30. You can do this after you beat the Master Rank version of Ibushi (Master Rank 20). It may take some time to reach Master Rank 30 as you will need to clear a couple of quests and slay/capture a number of monsters to raise your Master Rank.

Attacks and Moves

Narwa the Allmother uses the following attacks in Low and High Rank quests.

Lightning Tail Quake

Thrusts the tip of its tail into the ground, causing the ground to quake and emit delayed bursts of lightning.

- Rapid Wind and Thunder Combo

Slams its arms into the ground and emits delayed bursts of wind and lightning around itself.

- Spinning Coiled Burst

Summons 6 orbs of lightning which immediately detonate into spinning coils after the monster fires a Lightning Bomb through them.

- Spinning Lightning Coils

Lightning coils that travels in a line created by the Allmother's arms. These coils also spin horizontally making it harder to evade than the regular Narwa's coils.

- Thunder Tail Slam Attack

Tail attack imbued with thunder energy. A follow up thunder attack can catch any hunter who lets down their guard after evading the tail slam!

- Wind and Thunder Combo

Testament to Ibushi's sacrifice, the Allmother can harness the wind then follow it up with a thunder attack.

- Double Dragon's Maw

A pair of bite attack that the Allmother can follow up with a Thunderball attack. The bites can stun a hunter making them extra vulnerable to the ball.

- Allmother Annihilation

A two-phase ultimate attack that summons Dragonators and finishes with a star fall. The star fall will expand and deal huge damage to the whole arena.

How to Hunt

Narwa the Allmother's ability to now command the wind like Winged Serpent Ibushi as well as employ her usual attacks makes her twice as deadly. Keep your eye on her stance as she attacks so you aren't caught off guard. Attack the areas on her body that have accumulated energy to give yourself the edge over her.

Furious Rajang

How to Unlock

To unlock Furious Rajang, you first need to reach Master Rank 50. You can do this after you beat the Master Rank version of Narwa the Allmother (Master Rank 30). It may take some time to reach Master Rank 50 as you will need to clear a couple of quests and slay/capture a number of monsters to raise your Master Rank.

Attacks and Moves

Furious Rajang uses the following attacks in Low and High Rank quests.

- Rajang Hops

Quickly hops in a zigzag pattern and damages anything along the way.

- Quick Arm Grab

Attempts to flinch the hunter then follows up with a stronger move.

- Upheaval

Breaks the ground infront of it then deals damage to anyone caught within the area.

- Body Throw

Throws itself towards the Hunter in an attempt to keep close.

- Body Spin to Slam

Uses its entire body to spin around then ends with a powerful slam.

- Slamming Sweep

A quick move that deals with Hunters who think its tail is a safe area.

- High Speed Tackle

A very quick shoulder tackle and also a means for Rajang to keep close.

- Cannon Ball

Hops then curls into a ball. It then lands with a great force to deal damage in an area.

- Body Slams

Variety of moves that involves Furious Rajang's entire body. Usually done with full force.

- Furious Fist Shockwave

Creates lightning on the ground, which then explodes after a short while.

- Fists of Fury

A punching attack that finishes with a slam that summons lightning shockwaves on the ground.

- Electro Orbs Explosion

Throws electro balls on the ground that detonates after a short while.

- Signature Lightning Beam

The signature move of all Rajangs, this is a quick and far reaching lightning beam from its mouth.

- Arena Throw

Grabs a huge chunk of the earth then hurls it towards the Hunter.

- Corkscrew Lightning Dash

Readies itself for two corkscrew dash attacks. Very quick and may surprise Hunters.

- Furious Death Grab

A grapple move that sees the Hunter getting carted if not evaded properly. Use wirebugs to escape the Lightning Beam finisher.

How to Hunt

Since Furious Rajang lacks a tail, you will need to focus your attention on attacking its head so you knock it out of Rampage mode. Keep in mind that Furious Rajang use a lot of powerful restraining attacks, so if you get clobbered, use Wirefall to quickly recover and retreat.

Crimson Glow Valstrax

How to Unlock

To unlock Master Rank Crimson Glow Valstrax, you first need to reach Master Rank 70. You can do this after you beat the Master Rank version of Narwa the Allmother (Master Rank 30) and Furious Rajang (Master Rank 50). It may take some time to reach Master Rank 70 as you will need to clear a couple of quests and slay/capture a number of monsters to raise your Master Rank.

Attacks and Moves

Crimson Glow Valstrax uses the following attacks in Low and High Rank quests.

- Aerial Wing Thrust Combo

Takes flight before thrusting each of its wings once towards the player.

- Aerial Thrust and Slam Combo

Takes flight before thrusting one of its wings towards the player, then bringing it back for a powerful slam.

- Crimson Beam Redirection

Fires its deadly Crimson Beam. Afterward, it flicks the laser up before slamming the beam down toward the player.

- Double Lunge

A ferocious bite attack against any hunter that stays in front of Crimson Glow Valstrax for too long.

- Quick Pounce

A quick front leg attack targeting hunters in front of Crimson Glow Valstrax.

- Wing Strikes

Attacks using its spike-like wings for extra reach.

- Aerial Attacks

Uses its jet-like wings to hover over enemies and pounce from above.

- Explosive Dunk

Flips forward and dunks its wings onto the ground, leaving an explosion as it twists in the air.

- Rocket Dash

Points its wings backward then fires its jet-like wings. It uses the inertial force to propel towards hunters.

- Ground Zero Burst

Points its jet-like wings towards the ground before releasing dragon energy in the immediate vicinity.

- Crimson Salvo

Shoots balls of energy from its jet-like wings. The balls will explode as it lands on the ground.

- Crimson Beam

Positions both its wings forward then charges dragon energy which will then be released in the form of a very powerful beam.

- Around the World

Flies towards the sky in a circle to look for a target. Once target is acquired, it will dive down from the skies with an explosive force.

How to Hunt

After channeling energy into its wings, Crimson Glow Valstrax will unleash a powerful attack. It sucks in this energy from its chest, and that's the moment to wait for. Prevent it from powering up and cause the energy to combust, dealing serious damage to the creature.

Scorned Magnamalo

How to Unlock

To unlock Scorned Magnamalo, all you need to do is reach Master Rank 100. To raise your rank it is recommended that you fighting Gaismagorm, who you should be able to defeat in 9 to 10 minutes with a Light Bowgun. Doing so gives a decent amount of XP in the process for leveling up.

Attacks and Moves

Scorned Magnamalo uses the following attacks in Low and High Rank quests.

- Triple Charge Combo

A combo of one long charge and two shorter charges, ending in a devastating divebomb.

- Claw Slam

Winds up one of its paws before slamming it down.

- Hellfire Drill

Launches forward in a drill-like motion, wildly spinning around with Hellfire blasts as it lands.

- Hellfire Dust

An attack that scatters Hellfire dust in an area before a delayed explosion occurs.

- Ground Impale

A tail stab towards the ground that lets out an explosion of Hellfire after a short delay.

- Hellfire Barrage

A barrage of Hellfire orbs originating from Scorned Magnamalo's tail.

- Blast Tail Slam Combo

A combo of a Hellfire blast from Scorned Magnamalo's mouth and a tail slam.

- Hellfire Tail Impale

A charged tail impale accompanied by a laser of Hellfire, allowing it to reach far targets.

- Wave of Hellfire

A charged wave of Hellfire stemming from Scorned Magnamalo's paws.

- Hellfire Twister

Wildly spins around, letting out erratic Hellfire explosions and ending the attack with a tail impale.

- Bite and Blast

Performs a grabbing bite that launches the player into the air and into a Hellfire blast on the ground.

- Magnamalo Thrash

Thrashes about in place, knocking the player backwards when hit.

- Red Hellfire Explosion

Covers itself in red Hellfire before letting out a massive explosion.

How to Hunt

When Scorned Magnamalo concentrate their Hellfire, they can unleash powerful attacks but also become more susceptible to damage if the Hellfire on their body is detonated. Press the attack further to send them into the Raging Hellfire state. But beware of powerful attacks from body parts infused with Hellfire.

Gaismagorm

How to Unlock

To unlock Gaismagorm, you will need to go through all your key quests at Master Rank 5. Gaismagorm will then pop up as your Urgent Quest to reach Master Rank 6. Gaismagorm's mission is called 'Proof of Courage'.

Attacks and Moves

Gaismagorm uses the following attacks in Low and High Rank quests.

- Wingarm Slam

Slams down one of its wingarms, dealing heavy damage on impact.

- Explosive Clap

Charges up an explosive orb before detonating it by clapping it between its hands.

- Wingarm Sweep

Slams one of its wingarms into the ground before sweeping it across the area and spinning around.

- Gaismagorm Charge

A relentless forward charge that knocks away hunters caught in its path.

- Biting Charge

Bites into the ground, knocking hunters upwards as it charges forward.

- Gaismagorm Backblast

Charges up an explosive ball, firing it downwards and using the explosion's momentum to reposition backward.

- Tail Slam

Slams its tail downwards before rotating to face the direction of the tail slam.

- Gaismagorm Jump

Jumps towards the edge of the arena, knocking away hunters and making rocks protrude out of the ground after landing.

- Straight Qurio Laser Breath

A Qurio-powered laser breath with a straight trajectory, dealing heavy damage on contact and causing delayed explosions on each surface it hits.

- Sweeping Qurio Laser Breath

A Qurio-powered laser breath performing in a sweeping motion, dealing heavy damage on contact and causing delayed explosions on each surface it hits.

- Archdemon Charge

Charges around the arena, leaving a trail of explosive orbs behind it. At the end of its charge, it roars to detonate the orbs, causing large explosions.

- Abyssal Slide

Uses a blast to propel itself forward, rapidly sliding towards the hunter. This attack occurs twice in a row.

- Meteor Rain

Lets out a mighty roar upwards, causing the sky to turn red and meteors to fall from above.

- Abyssal Rampage

Wildly thrashes its wingarms around, causing massive explosions and dealing massive damage.

- Vacuum Explosive Clap Combo

Vacuums everything in a large area towards its maw, before performing a deadly Explosive Clap.

- Massive Qurio Laser Breath

Fires down into the arena with a massive Qurio-powered laser, resulting in a massive explosion that deals immense damage.

How to Hunt

Gaismagorm attacks with the explosive, crystallized Qurio on its carapace. These crystals can be broken by attacking, but beware: Gaismagorm can consume the shards and use them to deliver even more explosive attacks. When Gaismagorm climbs the pit's wall, it's readying a strong attack. Use the ballistae provided to stop it.
