LEGO world features a rank progression system, with the player’s rank determined by the number of gold bricks the player has successfully collected in the game(either by doing Quests for NPCs, or by mining them throughout Different Worlds). There are 200 overall gold bricks to be collected in the game, although you'd actually be needing just the first 100 to reach the rank of a Master Builder.
The higher rank you earn, the larger (the actual size of the world) and more diversity in Biomes you get to explore in the game. Much more, higher ranking players will be able to generate new worlds to their defined specifications – filtering out which biomes, Creatures, and Vehicles to be found in their "galactic search" of a new world.
