I accidentally started building a house but I don't want to build a new house yet. Is there anyway to stop the house from be built? It also used up half of my money which I was saving up so is there a way to get my money back? Thanks

No, unfortunately there isn't. I did the same thing a few months ago but instead of using Simoleons I used up more than half of the LPs that I was saving. It sucks that the game doesn't give you a chance to cancel or confirm that you want build something.
If you want your money back possibly more listen to this:
You need:
A Children's store
At least 1 house
1. Go to the Children's store
2. Go to the preteen section
3. Scroll right until you see the blue dummy
4. Buy as many as you want (they're free)
5. In your inventory sell the dummies for 900 Simoleons
