My task says go fishing. I go to the park and click on the pole but nothing happens.

Try clicking on the water by the pool instead of the Fishing pool, also make sure the sim is an Adult Sims. But try clicking on the lake instead of the pole

You have to first bring an Adult sim there with the whistle. To access the whistle go to the simtracker and look below the image of one of your Sims. There should be a briefcase (the one that will flash when they need to go to work) and a whistle symbol, which is what I was talking about. Once you have brought your sim there click on the pole different Fishing options will appear.
