On the gardening menu, some of the plants have this green sign with teeth on it. What does it mean???

It means that the plant has a chance to mutate into a sim-eating carnivorous plant.
Yes, it means the plant can transform into a sim eating plant. But don't worry about it, all you have to do to get rid of it is click on it and negotiate for three minutes. Before the last update you had to buy herbicide, but not anymore.

No they can't. If they allowed the plants to actually eat Sims, players would be FURIOUSπ₯ seriously, what kind of game let's you create a player and then just has a plant eat it! Pretty sure this isn't "Little Shop of Horrors" here!
