Yep. And, if you do one then the other, your levels save. So you can be level 6 in Karate, switch over to Ballet, and, if you go back to karate, you'd still be level 6.
So if I Age my preteen, I lose everything he knows about Karate? No more ability to enter Competition Center on Karate day?

Only one hobby shows in the hobby ya for each preteen also. Do you have preteens who do both hobbies and have their progress from both saved?
I think it's lousy that they can't do both... it's also annoying that Adult Sims can't do more than one hobby or switch between careers. I seem to recall ages ago switching careers for one of my Sims for a goal, and being able to switch it back with no demotions, but that was many updates ago. I'm going to send a request to EA that they try to fix it so that skills in careers and hobbies don't get wiped out (maybe if enough of us do, they will work on it).
I know that with the Sims 1 and 2 there were all sorts of hidden attributes assigned to Sims - each Sim had a file with numbers listed for things like skills, personality, etc. (I downloaded a lot of cheat objects and read a lot about the creation of them, although making them was beyond my skills). iOS is such a disturbingly closed system.... I don't want to Jailbreak my phone (too scared of messing it up) and I haven't done any iOS development, but I would think that recording skill levels wouldn't be that hard to do or bulk up the program too much...

If anyone has successfully switched a Pre-Teen Sim between hobbies without losing progress, please tell us - maybe the EA rep was wrong...
