How many times do you have to be "romantic" to get the engaged option?

You can't get engaged. Get up to where your Status is "dating" then after you fill the Bar you can ask the sim to move in with you, and after that fill the bar again and you will be partners. That's as far as you can get.

I am stuck at this part too. But they did make this new update so you can get married and have kids in the Sims free play. I have been looking at other answers and it says you just keep being romantic until you can get engaged then married

Im stuck there too!! I've clicked it like 1,000,000 times already. My people are moved in already but other people say they shouldnt be moved in together. How do I get aomebody to move out?? Nevermind don't answer I've already moved everything from the 1st house to the house they are currently living in.. So you have to update it so they can get married?? 1 or 2 times updated???

You can go further, you have to wait for the specific goal which says get two Sims engaged. Then you must fill the Bar of partner, then propose. To propose you must buy a ring, these cost a lot of money or LP's. (lypife style points). You would think you cold buy a cheap one, but the cheaper it is the more likely the sim will say no, then you have lost the money or lifestyle points. I hope I helped!

After the "partner" Bar is full, they gave me my first ring and told me to continue being romantic until someone pops the question. I don't know if it was always there but there is a "proposal" task. Then you move onto making a phone call.
