How to Get More Soul Essence

Soul Essence in Gunfire Reborn allows you to improve Talents, which are special hero abilities that increase your player level. There are two ways in which you can attain more Soul Essence and those are through game progression on a higher difficulty level and by clearing Vaults.

Increase the Difficulty

The simplest way to get more Soul Essence is to up the difficulty setting of your game. There are three different difficulties in Gunfire Reborn - Normal, Elite, and Nightmare. If you up the game from Normal difficulty to Elite difficulty you will have a 10% chance of enemies dropping Soul Essence, if you decide to play on Nightmare mode that percentage increases even more. Not only will playing on a higher difficulty level improve the drop rate of Soul Essence the enemy spawn rates will be higher as will the pool of available Challenge Events.

Increasing the difficulty level of Gunfire Reborn from Normal to Elite will make gameplay more challenging, Bosses and enemies will have 40% more health and shields/armor, and also deal 40% more damage. If you up the difficulty to the Nightmare difficulty setting these increases double again. There is however one last level reserved for extremely talented players and that is Reincarnation mode. In this difficulty setting which is unlocked when you beat the Nightmare difficulty setting the Soul Essence drops are even greater.

Explore Vaults

One of the cheapest upgrades you can purchase on the Talent tree using Soul Essence is Exploration. It costs only 5 Soul Essence to buy and should be one of the first talents you invest in as it allows you to open and explore Vaults in subsequent playthroughs. In Gunfire Reborn Vaults are areas hidden behind cracked, purple-glowing walls, and they contain numerous treasures and challenges with high rewards that can substantially increase your Soul Essence income. To enter a Vault you simply have to open the portal that leads inside, this is done by simply shooting at the cracked purple wall. The four types of Vaults that you will find in Gunfire Reborn are:

- Non-Fighting Vaults

- Fighting Vaults

- Elite Vaults

- Special Vaults
