Dawnguard Faction -- Ancient Technology

This is actually a series of quests and they are rather special in that they improve your weapons capabilities with respect to the Crossbow so they are very much worth the effort!  To start these you speak to Sorine Jurad after your rescue and recruitment of Florentius and she will explain that she has located a Dwarven schematic that can provide a new upgrade or ammunition type for the crossbow.

Recovering the Dwarven Schematics for Sorine

She asks you to fetch it for her -- these are basically random location quests but they are for specific items: Enhanced Crossbow Schematics, Dwemer Exploding Fire Bolt Schematics, Dwemer Exploding Ice Bolt Schematics, Dwemer Exploding Shock Bolt Schematics, Dwarven Crossbow Schematics, and Enhanced Dwarven Crossbow Schematics.  Obviously these are worth the effort!

Each schematic is located inside of a boss-level chest at the location specified, and they are usually well guarded.  After you deliver the schematic to Sorine you will receive a leveled piece of enchanted armor or weapon as your reward. In addition to that she will teach you how to craft the item, provided the corresponding Smithing skills have been unlocked that is...

This quest repeats a total of six times, and each iteration will grant a single upgrade or ammunition type, so bonus!  After you finish this the first time just rinse and repeat :)
