31: Second Third Status Check

At this point you are now roughly two-thirds of the way through the game and there are some minimum accomplishments that you should have achieved.  Not having achieved these could be a problem later on in the game, which is why we pause for this Status Check.  There is just one more of these checks left in the game, which will take place just before you face the League Champion and the final two battles of the game...

As before this is pretty simple – all you need to do is check to be sure that you have obtained the following in your game regardless of which starter you chose.  The basic items include Pokemon and Items, so just follow along below, and check off the items listed.  If ANY are missing, you will want to backtrack and obtain them BEFORE you proceed from here, because it will be much more of an  inconvenience to do so after this point in the game.

You should have seen 104 Pokemon, and Own 85, and possess Seven Gym Badges – the Trio Badge, the Basic Badge, the Insect Badge, the Bolt Badge, the Quake Badge, the Jet Badge, and the Freeze Badge.  If you are sitting their thinking it is odd that there is only ONE more badge to go and he considers this only 2/4 through the game, well then you have not played any of the previous games -- because strictly from an effort and content stance, that is where we are!

– Pokemon --

At this point in the game you should have the following Dex Entries in your Pokedex, and you should OWN the following Pokemon in your collection.  Note that in the case of evolved Pokemon, you do not have to have all of the types from that evolutionary set in your box, just the highest one.

If you plan on breeding Pokemon stick with the standard two Pokemon per evolutionary line (a male and female) as appropriate.  In the listing below there is no distinction between a Pokemon from an evolutionary line that you should have owned at one point or now, so for instance your Tepig may now have evolved into a Pignite, so you no longer own a Tepig, but it will still be listed as Owned in the list so that you know you are supposed to have the full dex entry rather than a partial entry for a Pokemon that you never owned.

Pokemon marked with an X indicate that the entry is subject to the choice you made either with the Starter Pokemon or with Gift Pokemon, meaning that it will vary depending on what you took and is thus a special case.
