35: Route 10

Hit the Pokemon Center to restock your kit, heal, and save as you are about to set out on another adventure!  Check your drinks to be sure you have what you consider a normal supply, and then head for the north gatehouse and go in!

As far as kit goes, I recommend that you have the following as a minimum for worse case scenarios -- and I include Poke Balls in this list because (A) we will be catching a lot of them on the path ahead, and (B) some will be Legendary and we will NEED the extra Ultra Balls!

-- x??  Poke Balls (whatever you like)
-- x20 Great Balls
-- x80 Ultra Balls
-- x20 Hyper Potions
-- x05 Max Potions
-- x05 Full Restores
-- x05 Revives
-- x02 Max Revives (or more)
-- x15 Fresh Water-type
-- x15 Soda Pop
-- x15 Lemonade
-- x12 Moomoo Milk

In addition to the above you want 5 of each of the status healing items, and you want to save your Elixir and Ether of both types for the battle with the Elite Four!  Hold off using PP Ups, and other Pokemon enhancers until you are at the Elite Four section of the adventure as you will better know who to use those on then!

That pretty much wraps up the preparation, so we will now -- for the second time -- head off for Route 10!

This time the guard inside the gatehouse does not stop us to tell us anything -- and if we talk to her she admits that she heard the storm was caused by a Pokemon -- but we know which don't we?  The other Trainers in the gatehouse can be chatted up, and of course the News Ticker has an ad for the Route 3 Day Care Center, the weather, and information about the city...

As you enter the Route you see tall grass ahead of you with three treasure balls poking out, and a nearby Trainer...  Starting with the ball on the left, you find a Foongus, a Foongus, and a Full Heal.

There are a handful of Pokemon in the Report that we still need to capture -- they are a Stoutland, an Amoonguss, a Bouffalant, and a Vullby -- so go ahead and capture those and once you have them, then have a chat with the nearby Trainer!

Battle Girl Amy has a Level 38 Scrafty, and a Level 39 Mienfoo.

Follow the Dowser to the ledge along the north face to get a Max Potion, then head up the stairs and have yourself a battle!

Ace Trainer Johan has a Level 39 Fraxure, a Level 39 Accelgor, and a Level 39 Eelektrik.

Veteran Karla has a Level 39 Maractus, Level 40 Cryogonal, and a Level 39 Alomomola.

As you cross the bridge you hear a familiar voice calling for you to stop!  That is correct, it is time for another meeting with Cheren!  And the battle begins...

Cheren opens with his Level 43 Unfezant, then his Level 45 Samurott, a Level 43 Simisear, and finally his Level 43 Liepard.

After the battle Cheren heals your team, and then Bianca gives you some Max Revives, then you have a long conversation in which both your mates pledge to support you any way that they can in your upcoming battle with N and Team Plasma.

A Narrow strip of dark grass extends to the north here -- and as you can see that is where you need to go to get an Amoonguss -- so head on in!  Fair warning, Amoonguss can be very hard to capture, both because of its ability to drain health back to it from you and recover large amounts of health using synthesis, and because it is very resistant to Poke Balls, so be patient, and weaken it as much as you can!

Following the path leads you to two treasure balls with each having an Amoonguss in it, a treasure ball with a Hyper Potion, and a fourth one with a Dawn Stone!

Black Belt Corey has a Level 40 Sawk.

Hiker Bret has a Level 38 Gurdurr and a Level 38 Boldore.

A Trainer on the other side of the bridge gifts you with a Dusk Stone, and the nearby treasure ball has TM05, Roar, which you should grab before jumping down the ledge here and continuing on the previous path to the east!

Ace Trainer Cheyenne has a Level 40 Sawsbuck and a Level 40 Jellicent.

Veteran Chester has a Level 39 Beartic, a Level  39 Seismitoad, and a Level 39 Escavalier.

Clearing Gate Security

Grab the Full Restore form the treasure ball near the tall grass and then head north to the Badge  Check station and open the first gate with your Trio Badge.  The Basic Badge is the key to the next gate, and then the Insect Badge is your ticket in.

If you are still missing any of the Route 10 Pokemon you can get them in the area before the last gate as well -- and when you are ready proceed to the next gate, which requires the Bolt Badge.  The Quake Badge is followed by the Jet Badge.  To reach the next gate you literally walk on air!

The Freeze Badge is the next key and after that all that is left is the Legend Badge -- you have passed all of the tests mates!  You are in!  You can now head for Victory Road!!
