Nintendo Event is a special event that is currently held in america, this events let's you get special stuff you need like the tickets and rare Pokemon like jirachi.

ShadowGX answered:

Nintendo Events are events held by Nintendo to promote stuff. They used to give out the special tickets for the special islands. They might not anymore. Plus, these events are only in the USA I believe.

Nintendo events are real life events. It's where Nintendo travel's around the world and stops at certain places like malls.

You don't "GET" it, it's a promotional thing Nintendo puts on when they feel like it. They did the whole country last year for the 10th Anniversary Celebration, malls everywhere, finals were in NYC Aug 8th, but they stopped the island downloads by then and just gave out your choice of the Top 20 as voted online. (Flying Pikachu was the best one!!) Then they gave out Mews at Toys R Us in September. These things are very, very rare, and usually hard to get to, and if you do, you'll only spend hours on lines to get the tickets. They get you to the Islands where Deoxys (Birth Island-Aurora Ticket), Mew (Faraway Island-Old Sea Chart), Lugia & Ho-Oh (Navel Island-Mystic Ticket), and the Lat you didn't pick (Eon Ticket-Southern island). Nintendo is pretty tight with their events, and I don't know of any planned at the moment, but check Pokemon.com and read the news regularly to find out about them. Don't get your hopes up too much, they really went all out last year, so who knows when they'll do more, especially for this generation of games, plus they announced a year or more ago that they weren't going to do the Birth Island download ever again for FR/LG, even though they may have on the mall tour, but it might have only been for Emerald's Birth Island. Faraway Island & Southern Island aren't accessible in FR/LG though, but all listed above are in Emerald.
You do have the option of getting a cheat device and either use encounter codes or warp codes to get to those islands.(Ticket codes usually don't work right or you need an enabler code to make it work, so warp codes are better) An AR Max Duo is about $25, and has encounter codes for FR for all 386 Pokemon, and you can look for other codes to enter yourself. They won't be "legal" Pokemon and you can't use them in competitions, and if you've used a cheat device on a game, you won't be able to use it in competition either (they check them), and they may not Trade into another game when they're illegal-it depends on a variety of factors. Since you don't even know what a Nintendo Event is, I'm guessing you're not looking to compete, so then it really doesn't matter at this point. And you can do other cool things with it too, like get lots of Master Balls or other items, one-hit kills, faster leveling up, etc. Hope this helps!
