Best team

Begin whit a Bulbasaur and catch a pidgey and a geodude

A good Starter team would be. Charmander, then catch pidgey, Pikachu, catapie and mankey. There those Pokemon should be able to defeat the first two gym leaders. If you teach them the right moves and levels. I hoped this helped.

I started with Charmander but then I caught mankey then after wird I used my leaf green to get the other 2 Starters then when I had 2200 coins I purchased a dratini and evoled it into a Dragonair but I never let it evoled into a Dragonite then I when to the Power Plant for a high level Pikachu and Zapdos and eveoled it to a raichu. With my Pidgeot I caught it on Route 2 and used my EXP share theni killed the elite 4 so thats how I got my team and if you have all 3 starters you can teach it the 3 Super moves which I did.

When you get one, use Lapras. Its a beast at level 50+ (SheerCold owns)

Catch a pidgey then ,a male nidoran ,take eevee then Evolve it in to a jolteon then lapras, and Trade n abra for a mr.mine

This shold make you ready to defeat the league
Jolteon,Charizard = lorelie
Pidgey (pidgeot),lapras = Bruno
Mr.mine = Agatha
Lapras,jolteon = Lance
And finally use all your Pokemon to defeat the cha,pion
