How to Buy Cars

Cars can be purchased in Forza Horizon 5 in either the Autoshow or Auction menus, this How to Buy Cars guide will tell you what you need to do to buy the car you want.

To buy cars in Forza Horizon 5 you need to access either the Autoshow or Auction House menus. You can access these options by pressing 'Pause' using the 'Menu' button on your controller and tabbing to 'Buy and Sell' using the LB or RB button.

Autoshow

The cars that are on offer at the Autoshow are standard models that can be purchased outright using the Credits that you earn during the game. The Autoshow does not sell every car, and those it does are sold at a set price. You can narrow down your search for the car you want by pressing the Y button on your controller to access filters, which will enable you to find what you want easier by allowing you to specify the class and type of car you want and how much you want to spend on the vehicle. You can also bring up a manufacturer list if there is a specific car you are after.

Auction House

The Auction House is also found under the 'Buy and Sell' menu while on the 'Pause' screen, and it is a place where you are able to buy cars from others. Unlike the cars you purchase from the Autoshow which are standard models, the cars you get from the Auction House can be pre-tuned at a higher class rank which can sometimes get you a real bargain as it can often be cheaper than buying a car and then tuning it separately. The Auction House also sells the cars that are unique to Barn Finds and Accolades and are needed to complete certain Drift Zones in Forza Horizon 5.

When you select the 'Auction House' option, you will be able to make a specific search for the vehicle you want by entering the exact make and model you are after. You will then need to set a maximum bid and hope you are lucky bidding against other players. Cars can also be bought outright for a set price at the Auction House. The Auction house is particularly useful for searching for fast cars to unlock the hard-to-reach Bonus Boards in Los Jardines.

Forza Horizon 5 does reward you with Wheelspins for gaining XP and leveling up that offer you a slim chance of obtaining a valuable supercar, but typically the only ways in which to get cars in Forza Horizon 5 is through the Autoshow and Auction House.
