How to Unlock Byleth

Byleth is a secret character in Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes that can be unlocked by completing a series of objectives to complete which are much harder than the challenges required to unlock some other characters in the game. This How to Unlock Byleth guide will tell you how to get this character which is one of the mightiest warriors in the game.

It does not matter which of the three-story paths of the campaign you take, they can all unlock Byleth. To start with you need to select either Azure Gleam, Golden Wildfire, or Scartlet Blaze and play through the campaign until Chapter 10. When you reach this point in the game a warning message will appear on the screen that informs you that actions in the battle will have a large impact on the rest of the story. Make sure before you proceed you save the game, so you can reload the save and try again if you unsuccessfully unlock Byleth.

Play through the battle normally until you encounter Byleth. When she appears retreat to the starting location of the battle and bring up the 'Orders' sub-menu and issue a command for one party member to head to the opposite side of the starting base. Ignore Arval who will continue to suggest that you fight Byleth. Instead, keep moving to the map's starting point. When you reach it a secret mission objective will pop up in the corner of the base which will be to defeat the enemy that spawns in that spot before Byleth arrives. At this point you need to switch to the party member that you already sent there earlier in the battle and defeat the captain, Randolph, that has spawned with the traveling party member. By doing this you will be able to defeat the enemy before Byleth shows up.

The battle will stop once you have completed this side mission, and you will no longer have to fight Byleth. Instead, Byleth and Jeralt will join your party. If you fight Byleth or fail to complete the side mission it will prevent the character from joining.
