Much like how Fire Emblem Fates included a story that branched off in certain points, Fire Emblem Echoes also features multiple narratives. However, instead of this serving as a point to turn the story into a completely new adventure like Fate's Conquest, Birthright and Revelation Storylines, the different narratives apart of Echoes' simply follow the two main characters of Alm and Celica and how they face the same conflict from the separate perspectives and locations.

These Split Paths in Fire Emblem Echoes can be jumped between at will, so whether players want to focus entirely on one character or would like to move back and forth over the course of a single Act apart of the Story, they can approach the game however they would choose to. However, a player will ultimately have to complete each of of Alm and Celica's battles and missions in order to continue the story forward.
