Added:

As a new farmer, one of your primary objectives is to work on the field. When you first begin a new career in Farming Simulator 18, you will start out with a meadow and two fields on your farm that have been prepared at different stages. In order to process field crops, it is mandatory to cultivate, sow and then harvest the crops you plant; however, when it comes to the two fields you begin with, one is ready to be cultivated and sown and the other is ready to be harvested.

Thankfully, a player will have all the necessary Tools at the farm already to plant the Grains and Vegetables than can plant to start with. That being said, as your farm grows and you begin planted a diverse group of crops, some plants with need special tools in order to be harvested.
