Elden Ring Crafting Guide
Elden Ring has a crafting system that allows you to create a wide variety of much needed items that will help you on your journey across Lands Between. Providing you have gathered the necessary materials for the item you want to craft you will be able to make the item when you please rather than depending on a vendor. This Elden Ring Crafting Guide will tell you everything you need to know.
How to get the Crafting Kit
You will not be able to craft in Elden Ring straight away, in order to do so you must first obtain an item known as a Crafting Kit which you will be able to acquire early on in the game. When you arrive at Limgrave make your way to the Church of Elleh avoiding the first optional boss which is the Tree Sentinal that patrols the area guarding the Erdtree. At the Church of Elleh you will meet a vendor known as Merchant Kale who buys and sells various goods. One of the items he has in stock is the Crafting Kit which you will be able to purchase for a price of 300 Runes. Once you have acquired this item you will be able to craft an infinite number of times.
How to Craft
Once you have the Crafting Kit in your possession a new 'Item Crafting' option will appear in your menu. When you select this option you will open a crafting menu where you can choose an item you want to create which you will acquire providing you have the appropriate resources available. If you do not have the materials in available for the item you want to make the crafting menu will display them and provide hints of their location. Nearly all the materials needed to craft in Elden Ring can be gathered by scavenging the Lands Between or defeating enemies.
How to get Cookbooks
Crafting recipes in Elden Ring come in the form of consumables called Cookbooks and you will be able to acquire them by purchasing them from vendors, looting enemies, or discovering them in the Lands Between. It is important to keep in mind that some Cookbooks will be more beneficial to particular classes or playstyles. For instance, a Normadic Warrior's Cookbook reveals crafting recipes for combat and support items.
