Listed below are several Beginner Tips and Tricks which will help you in Battlefield 2042.
Turn Off Motion Blur and Screen Shake
Battlefield 2042 comes with Motion Blur and Screen Shake enabled as default. It is recommended that you turn these two features off to prevent them from hindering your performance. The game moving around blurry and shaking from time to time can distract you from shooting the enemy.
Experiment with Specialists
Unlike previous games in the series, you are no longer restricted to playing Assault, Medic, Engineer, and Recon Classes and the gear they come with. In Battlefield 2042 there are 10 Specialists available, and you can use all of them - as well as their unique Speciality gadget and combat Trait. Make sure you check each specialist out and experiment with them in order to create weapon loadouts that fit your playstyle. Don't forget that if you need to change tactics during a game, you can switch between each of your unlocked Specialists in-game from the 'Deploy' screen. Create the Best Weapon Loadouts
It is essential that you spend time in the lobby experimenting with the assault rifles, SMGs, marksman rifles, sniper rifles, and pistols that you unlock to create the best weapon loadouts for your specialists. You can pre-build Assault, Engineer, Recon, and Medic builds which you can then swap between in-game with your chosen Specialist from the 'Deploy' screen. Make sure you assign multiple attachments to your favorite weapons, so you take advantage of the new Plus system, which enables you to quickly see what attachments are available on your current weapon and instantly equip them. Take a look at our How to Unlock Weapons Guide to find out how you can get a complete arsenal of weapons in Battlefield 2042.
Take Advantage of the Plus System
A new feature in Battlefield 2042 is the Plus System, which gives you the ability to easily swap your weapon attachments during combat so that you can quickly respond to different threats as they arise. The Plus System lets you switch between unlocked scope, barrel, underbarrel, and ammunition attachments of your primary and secondary weapons. To use the Plus System, hold L1 down on PlayStation, LB on Xbox, and the 'T' key on PC. Each branch of the menu will grant you access to a different category of attachment to choose between. The Plus System can be a game-changer, so make sure you take advantage of it.
Don't Forget to Use the Call-In System
A useful new feature introduced in Battlefield 2042 is the Call-in system, which is a gadget that will let you summon a vehicle at any given situation, place, and time. If you find you are in need of fast transportation - or if your squad needs a little extra firepower, you can access the Call-in system by pressing R1 on PlayStation, RB on Xbox, and the B button on PC. Then just choose the ride you want to get airlifted to your position, and look for a location for the drop-off to use it. The vehicle will come after a short while, so you will have to wait and hold your ground until then.
