Battlefield 2042 Cheats, Tips Strategy
Below is a collection of hints and tips that will help you to progress in the game. These include how to use the weather to your advantage and how to use vehicles and drones to rack up additional experience. As well as these hints and tips, we also have a beginners guide here which goes into more details on some of the tips we have below:
Choose the Right Specialist
In Battlefield 2042 you no longer play as the Engineer, Medic, Assault, or Recon, instead you now select a Specialist to spawn as. Your Specialist is now not restricted to a specific class of weapons, everyone in the squad can equip a rocket launcher, repair tool, or medkit. However, each of the Specialists does have a unique ability and a gadget that makes them unique, and it is important that you consider these when you choose a Specialist to spawn as. Take a look at our Specialist Tier List to find out more about the Specialists in Battlefield 2042 and to see which one we consider to be the best choice.
Take Advantage of the Plus System
Battlefield 2042 features a new Plus system which gives you the ability to change attachments on the fly. When you now spawn onto the battlefield you can take multiple barrels, grips, scopes, and ammo types with you. Take advantage of the Plus system to quickly adapt to your current situation by swapping out attachments to make the challenge you are faced with easier to deal with. If the enemy for example is further away, use a scope with a higher zoom and an extended barrel to make your gun better-suited for long-range encounters.
Use the Weather to your Advantage
Battlefield 2042 introduces a weather system that creates harsh conditions that includes tornadoes and storms. Make sure you take advantage of these weather effects by adapting your tactics accordingly whenever possible. If for example a sandstorm whips up, use it as cover to sneak up to an enemy unseen. Snipers will be rendered useless by the sandstorm, so you will not have to worry about getting shot on the approach.
Use Vehicles and Drones to Level Up Faster
There are plenty of weapons to unlock in Battlefield 2042 and although the early unlocks are decent, the best ones will not become available until you reach the higher levels. To increase your level requires experience, and a quick way to get plenty of it is to share vehicles with allies, as you will get assists for any kills earned by someone in the vehicle. Just drive into an objective and let your teammates take down enemies with your mounted turrets. Additional experience can also be gained by using certain Specialists. If for example you use Wikus 'Casper' Van Daele, you can use his OV-P Recon Drone to mark enemies and when allies kill them it will count as an assist. Take a look at our How to Fly Helicopters Guide to find out how to use scout, assault, and transport helicopters in Battlefield 2042.
Play the Objective
The key to being successful in Battlefield 2042 is to constantly play the objective. There is no in-game voice chat system in multiplayer, so you won't have someone telling you what to do. Just keep capturing zones, destroying enemy vehicles, marking enemies, and resupplying allies as all these things provide lots of experience that ensures your squad keeps pushing forward.
