Love stories are timeless, right? Probably, the kinds of love stories you never forget about are the ones that involve dreams that were actually never real. Or villains that are possessed versions of protagonist's fathers and the sidekicks that are indeed dead. Tidus is one of the most famous and respected heroes that the Final Fantasy franchise has ever seen. His transformation from a self-centered athlete and a cocky to a heroic and brave savior in the video game is really incredible.

One of the major reasons why Tidus is memorable is because he was never actually real. Almost at the end at of the Final Fantasy X, it is revealed that he is a 'dream' and he became 'more than a dream' when he came into contact with Sin. It is extremely kind of paradoxical and complicated, but the ability for open interpretation is definitely what makes any good fiction perfect.

A great hero is not the person who has actions and motives, but is the person that represents things bigger than themselves. In the case of Tidus, he represents the eternal question: what does life mean? And what does it mean to be alive? His acting story is among the best stories ever told, and his romance with Yuna is well explained and so heart wrenching. You can probably feel the pain from their final embrace, right?
