6. Gotcha Force

So, now that I've gone over Custom Robo, let's talk about Gotcha Force. Gotcha force stars a young boy that gets wrapped up in a world-threatening plot with some evil Borgs, which are trying to use to use these small, toy-like good Borgs to take over the world.

Sound familiar? Gotcha Force's plot hits extremely close to Custom Robo's rather clichéd storyline, and might make it seem as though both of the titles are not worth experiencing. However, that's far from the truth, as beyond the silly plot, the two games split apart to offer different gameplay experiences.

Gotcha Force is a shooter game. Before each stage, you create a team of Borgs (the little robot-like creatures), the size of which dependent on your Gotcha Points. Stronger Borgs tend to take up more points than smaller, weaker units, so you have to find a balance between strong and weak in order to create your party. From there you're dropped onto a map to face enemy Borgs, to shoot it out while trying to stay alive. The action is very fast-paced, and with the auto-targeting forcing players to keep on the offensive, it makes for a frantic and fun experience.

In addition, you can collect almost every Borg you fight, allowing you to create a variety of different armies for any situation. Gotcha Force falls on the strategic side of shooters, which makes it a somewhat rarity in the modern shooting genre age.
