Top 10 Playstation Games that need to be on PSOne Classics

7. King of Fighters '98

So, the PSOne Classics area actually has a fairly comprehensive collection of older fighting games on it, so fans of the genre can pick a variety of titles and get to experience a piece of fighting game history. In particular there are plenty of Capcom fighters to choose from, and so many Street Fighters your head will be spinning trying to figure out the differences.

Unfortunately, the SNK fighter library is severely lacking in the PSOne Classics list. Although practically all of the company's PlayStation fighter library has been released on the Japanese PSN, the only title to make it to the North American storefront is King of Fighters '99.

So why recommend King of Fighters '98, even though the game's direct sequel is on the market? Well, King of Fighters '98 is considered a better game overall… and even one of the better entries of the series in general. As for the game itself, it has a huge cast of fighters to choose from, mostly from other SNK series, which make the King of Fighters games crossover games that fall into the canon that the company has set up for all of their properties (fighters and other genres alike). SNK fighters also offer a different playstyle than the Capcom fare, offering a different option for those wanting to try something a little different.

The only reason why this (and the other King of Fighter PlayStation titles) may not have made it to the PSOne Classics line-up yet is because many of them were featured in a collection for the PlayStation 2. However, just like the PSP ports that were listed, having a collection on an older system doesn't make it easy for gamers to see and buy at any time, and there's always hope that this game's inclusion can begin the process of bringing over the rest of SNK's copious PlayStation library to a console digital format.
