Get a spread set, with 2 receivers on one side. Then with the receiver closest to the middle, do a hot route and then press the Right Analog stick in the opposite direction of the quarterback, making an outer slant. This should either get you touchdowns, or if you are just starting, plenty of yards for first downs and yard gains.
On an onsides kick, get the crossfire down to most down point, don't move the aimer, kick as hard as you can it is a 33 percent chance of getting the ball 33% of a touchback and 33% chance of it going out of bounds in the redzone
Most people that play Madden start the running play by hitting the turbo button as soon as the running back has possession of the ball. Most people thinks this will make their player hit the hole harder and give them an advantage, this is completely untrue, as it actually hurts your running game.
By not using the turbo button immediately you give yourself more time to find the hole in the defense that you can run into and gain more yards. Also, by not using turbo your offensive linemen will hold their blocks longer. Once you find the whole, you hit the turbo button and burst into it.
