Date of Question: Jan 31 2008 | Question ID: 108633 I watched this one game play video were they first give him the snake eye or what ever it's called and when they give it two him he has two eyes and I remember in mgs3 he gets his eye shot out why does he have his eye in mgs4 does any one know? |

They are two completely differant characters the guy you play as in MGS3 is Big Boss the guy who Solid, Liquid and Solidus snake were cloned from. Your playing as Solid Snake in MGS4 and the Solid Eye he has acts as a scope, thermal goggles and night vision in one.

Snake's eye in MGS4, does a whole lot of stuff, but that is not the same Solid snake as the one in Metal Gear solid 3. In metal gear solid 3, you paly as big boss, who in a way, is Snake, liquid, and Solidus' father.

Ok look
Mgs 3 takes you back to how it all started you play as naked snake aka big boss and then after that the clones are made (solid,liquid,solidus)so in mgs3 that was big boss with the eye patch and in mgs 4 thats solid snake with the solid eye which is a gadget given to him by otacon

MGS3 and MGS4 are exactly fourty years seperated. MGS3 is back in 1964, where you controlled Naked Snake (a.k.a. Big Boss). In MGS4 you control Solid Snake (a.k.a. Old Snake). Big Boss lost his right eye. Solid Snake has both of his eyes.
I think that they gave you the solid eye so that he'd resemble both Solid Snake, and Big Boss. With the CQC and all that, he does resemble them both pretty well.
