No Solid Snake never lost his eye, he has that eye patch for advanced sighting capabilities, so he can spot enemy soldiers easily and identify targets.

What! Snake did not lose his eye! But I saw a movie that he did. In metal gear solid 3: Snake Eater. When a guy named volgin tortures Snake, afterwards Snake accidently gets shot by another guy. I saw it on youtube. Wow I'm confused now :P

In MGS3 not Solid Snake lost his eye.Naked Snake (his "father") lost ,i think it was the right one, his eye. Ocelot (when he was young back then)shot at him and the bullet skims his eyeball

Naked Snake aka Big Boss (or punished snake) is the genetic father of the Solid, Liquid and Solidus Snake. If we count, there are 4 snakes, one lost left(solidus), one lost right(naked), one lost none but used an electronic eyepatch(solid) and one lost none and used none(liquid).koolkid24 answered:
Well remember that Big boss lost his eye not snake and it hard to understand at first but look around online and you get it.

Ooh I see, so the snake in MGS3 wasn't the real solid snake at all. Pretty stupid they had to make him so similar to the real one then though. Sorry my mistake ! :P

NO no no. Big Boss "naked snake" lost his eye in the torture room when ocelot tried to shoot EVA, who is the mother of liquid and solid snake through the genetic information the Big Boss. Solid and liquid snake are basically test tube babies. The MGS series is not in chronological order. Snake eater is the first game, and solid snake was a child then and metal gear in 1999 is when Solid snake or "old snake" is first introduced into series inwhich he fights Big boss. And The Boss is the female leader in MGS 3 and the mentor of Snake but when he killed her he inherited the name Big Boss.robber_88 answered:

Yes he did lose his eye in mgs3 but I saw in a video that he has both eyes but I don't know why.

Metal gear= solid snake
Metal gear 2= Solid snake
Metal gear solid= solid snake
Metal gear solid 2= Solid snake, Raiden
Metal gear solid 3= Naked snake (AKA Big Boss)
Metal Gear solid 4= old snake (AKA solid snake (FOXDIE and cloned body are failing))

Ok, in mgs3, that is not solid snake, that is his "father" big boss or, naked snake as he was known back then, he gets shot in the right eye in 1964, 8 years before solid snake is even cloned, solid snake has the "eyepatch" on his left eye. The eyepatch is called the solid eye. It lets him see enemy positions, night vision, and binoculars in 3-d imagery

The eyepatch is really the Solid Eye, it helps SOLID Snake to tell friends and foes apart. Its also quite handy instead of having to carry 3 things at he same time.

Snake did not lose his eye,he had gotten a solid eye off of otacon which allows him to use binocs,night vision and being able to see what kind of stuff is in the boxes or just seeing what kind of enemy it is.

I'm sorry you guys, but this is just plain crazy! i'm a major metal gear solid fan. If you guys don't understand this, in the first act, you get attacked by gekko. After that you Old Snake/solid Snake jumps off a 2 story building. keep on going through the level until you have to enter a building where they introduse the Mk.2. contlolled by Otacon. the mk.2 will hand you the solid eye! Naked Snake/Big Boss is in a completely different time period. I'm sorry guys but how old do you guys think Snake is?! If you want to find out what happened in the first 3 games, there is a great deal on Amazon for about $50! it's a great series. MGS is practically my life. Sorry for the long review. I just wanted to end this.

I barely started playing mgs I started with the peace walker demo and I was hooked I had to go out and buy the game as well as snake eater for the gamecube and portable ops! Im playing mgs4 now but I can't wait for mgs 3ds! solid snake is cool but to me, he doesnt compare to big boss.Search for more answers for Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots or ask your own question here.
