Question for Assassins Creed

Why is the basic symbol sometimes shown like this:
The lines that form the letter 'A' are not the same thickness. The symbol looks like that when games are started, but now when Assassin's Creed III came out, cover art has a symbol like this:
The lines are the same thickness. I know there are a lot of different symbols but I'm asking about this basic design, it's shown in these two forms all over the internet and I don't know if one of them is wrong or what...

The Assassin's symbol you are talking about is actually the Levantine Order of the Creed, or in other words, the symbol's image at the period of Altair's time. Assassin's Creed 3's symbol is just an alternate one.
