Crossbow

Before the game menu scrren the first video shows desmin or a assain with a crossbow on his back is there a way to get it in the game?

Sorry, I didn't mean crossbow. I meant a ranged weapon in the pistol.

No, the crossbow was originally supposed to be in the game, but it was dropped for several reasons and replaced instead with the throwing knives. It's unlikely that the crossbow will ever show up again, even in the sequel. I believe they dropped it because of the reload system or something.

No you can't get any ranged weapons except throwing knives.You can get a pistol in AC2 though.

No man sorry, but you can't get a crossbow. That was replaced with the throwing knives. I was thinking about that when I first watched the opening video. I'm pretty sure that a crossbow wouldn't be that great of an idea with the handleing of it an all. Throwing knives are much easier and faster to use, but playing with the cross bow would have been fun I will admit that.

A quick little update, according to Ubisoft, the Crossbow WILL return in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood.
