It did take me awhile. Just walk through really slowly holding down the B button. This will automatically make him gently push anyone who comes close. The walking slow bit is to not scare the jar carriers.

I had this problem at first, but in fact it is very easy. Start walking towards the people and hold down B before you reach them. Keep walking, still holding onto B, and he will automatically walk through them. Don't let go of B at any point or he will knock someone over. You don't think that it will work, but it does.

... Really... 3 people had this problem... You don't just press it once... You keep it held down until you get through them

You just walk while holding down the B button.

Press your direction keys now press and hold B until you get past

Its shameful to admit this even happened to me, when I got to this bit it the instructions were unclear as it did not state you had to hold the button down. I just spammed the 'B' button.
