Hi again. I'm not really new to Monster Hunter but I'm trying to get the Ancient Blade.
<BR>I've already got some pretty good swords like Valkyrie Blade and Iron Katana "Grace" but the Ancient Blade is giving me some trouble. I've gotten the rustones from the online level 3 quest " A Giant Dragon Attacks" and I went to the armoury online and tried to make a Rusted Sword or witchever blade you start with to get Ancient Blade. So I tried making it and what I got was a stupid iron sword. Now how did that happen? I thought rustones were supposed to make the rusted weapons, Rusted sword, hammer, lance, ect. But this one gave me a regular iron sword so I'm wondering what I did wrong. Please help me out with this it's really anoying. Thanks in advance.

Well........ For Ruststones, you should do them offline, because ruststones don't always give rusted weapons. For example, if you got a ruststone that was supposed to be for the sword and shields, you might actually get the rusted weapon, but you might also get the iron swords, like you said. This all depends on you ability to think. If you give the ruststone to the armory guy and it turns out to be an Iron Blade, reset your console (or just exit your file without saving!!!) and get back on. Then what you do is go do any easy quest such as Delivering Raw Meat. Once you complete that quest, you just save and get your ruststone again and go back to the armory guy. If you still don't get a Rusted Weapon, then go reset and quest. If you DO get the weapon, congratulations on losing 120 Earth Crystals and plenty of zeni for one weapon :D:D:D.

Well, online it is not recommended to get your Rusted Weapons. I suggest going offline and doing it. This way, you can't lose anything! Just follow what I say:

1. Go offline with your Ruststones. Save before you attempt this strategy!
2. Go to the Armory and polish the Ruststone. If you don't receive a Rusted Weapon, reset or quit game and load it up again. If you do, congratulations.
3. After resetting, go start an easy quest that you can finish in seconds (i.e. Delivery quests). After completing this quest, go save and come back to the Armory with your Ruststone and polish again. This changes the outcome of that Ruststone. If you just reset the console and polish again after receiving a regular sword without doing a quest in between, it will not result in a different weapon.
4. If you still don't get a Rusted Weapon, go do another quest and come back to polish. Just keep doing this until you actually get your desired weapon :].
