Ok, if this is about 40 years before Metal Gear Solid 2, and the character is big boss, then how come he wears a mask that looks like Jack A.K.A. Raiden, and why does the tank look more advanced than the Metal Gears?

Ok, here's what I think is going on.

The boss(the lady) is BIG BOSS and when you kill her at the end and you watch the movie far enough.

You see that some old guy is giving you a medal and he says you are now crowned big boss.

The snake we all know in our time is either the snake you play in mgs3, that still looks pretty much the same and the other solidous and liquid were cloned frome you.

OR that the snake we know is a clone along with solidous and liquid.

I know Solid is a clone of Big Boss, he got all of Big Boss' dominant traits, liquid got the recessive, which is why hes blonde, what I asked is why is there a Raiden mask and why is the Shagohod more advanced then REX and RAY???

The mask thing is something Hideo Kojami put in there so you wouldn't forget about Raiden, besides if you look at the locker you put him in, there is a picture of Raiden there.

And the shagohod looks more advance because it is in light colors. the Metal Gears are a very dark greyish color. Besides, the shogohod couldn't shoot a laser like Rex and Ray. and the Shagohod is a tank and has threads, R&R have legs, which is cooler and more advance.

What the hell mgsfreak? Did you pay attention at all during this game?!? The "lady" is not Big Boss, she is THE BOSS, a legendary war hero.

It's stated about a million times during the game!

She was Jack's mentor, and when he finally kills her near the end, that "old guy" (the President, DUH) awards him a medal and gives him the title "BIG BOSS," meaning he is a greater soldier than THE BOSS.

Also, are you not aware that this game happens in 1964? The character you play is not the same Snake from the other games; this is the Snake that Solid and Liquid were cloned from, and who Solid Snake eventually kills.
