Typhon's Cavern

I'm going through the cavern and I have to jump across some large gaps that I can't get across. I haven't beaten Typhon yet, and there doesn't seem to be any other way to him. All the screen shots I look at show those gaps filled by a walkway. What am I doing wrong?

Hi, If you haven't beaten the Titan yet, Then your going the wrong way,
After the save altar there, Head towards the face and get a cut scene, there's a path there in front of his face, The path there's 3 maybe 4 small walls you can hide behind as he blows, Easy, Oh watch out for the Harpies, Follow the narrow path to the top, At the top look for the tallest stone use your blades on it you will be prompt to lift, now go get you bane, After you get bane and come back down the stone and battle the solders and archers, before you grapple back across the gap, look for another path that will take you to the fire pit with 4 chest you did to thaw, Grab the solders and throw them in the fire, TO GRAB PRESS O, TO THROW PRESS SQUARE, After you grapple across you head back the same way you came into the cave.
