Et you reach the sisters and then jumps off a cliff. Am I supposed to get him before he jumps off the cliff or what am I supposed to do?

First put the statue thing that slows down time under the door so you don't have to keep opening it. Then you have to slow down time, and quickly run up to him. Once you get up to him before he jumps off, press R1 then take him to the book and put him down (R1) to make him read it. If you can't get him in time, you can go through the shimmering door thing to start over and do the same thing.
