Can your house catch on fire? If it does, will it ever come back?

Your house will NOT catch on fire. If you make food that has a fire symbol by it you just need to buy a fire extinguisher to get rid of the fire. Or it's just fun to watch your Sims run around and be scared lol.

Yeah, you pretty much need to do what Kai said. Except that you can't buy a fire extinguisher, you just need to click on the oven, and the icon "Extingush" will appear. Then one of your Sims will start extinguishing. It takes 3 minutes.
