Hm... Unless your willing to pay (REAL) money...
Go on your Sims, then go to the upper left corner, (you should click on this purple thing), and then once clicked, wait awhile... And then go find a wedding picture, on the categories...
....
But unless your not willing to pay, then you should go to the closet and dress your Sims to a suitable outfit for a wedding.

Yes, you can just find what you clothes you like the best for your wedding.

If you complete a certain quest(forgot which one) in time, you can get 4 actual wedding dress and 4 wedding suits. Before then, I just used to dress them in all white.

most people says it automatically goes into formal wear. my sims don't look like a wedding though. its getting me really mad so my sims wont propose until i know how. otherwise its just weird

They can get married in normal clothes but if you really want one then you will have to pay real money. On the online store theres a selection of things you can get and theres a wedding bundler

You need the costume and swim wear store and then you press the characters icon and they'll have the wedding dress and tux if you have the bundle

You have to build the clothing store then buy a wardrobe for your Sim. When you go home and check the wardrobe a new section called "outfits" show and the wedding outfits are available. Worked for me.
