You must have the Park built, once you do, click on the park and call a sim over. There are a couple of bbqs there to click on.

You need to go to the Park and whistle a sim, then click on the BBQ and choose use the BBQ, that's it, just whistle a non busy sim

check near the lake there is bbq grilled and choose use the BBQ not cook the bbq

I'm having the same issue. How do I know what time it is in the sim world. Mine is 6am to 10am. I know how to use the barbecue bit it doesn't complete the task.
