Question for Animal Crossing

I am new to this game and totally addicted.
I am confussed about traveling to a new town.

Does this mean that when I travel I need to switch my memory cards and start a new town myself?

If that is the case then I am not sure how it all works with importing stuff into my original town/game.

Can someone please help? and get

What you can do is if you have two memory cards then you have your original town (on the Animal Crossing Memory Card) and you can make another town on a different memory card and then on one of the towns (make sure both memory cards are in) you go to the train station with your guy and the monkey will ask you if you are travelling today and you say yes. You can go to the other town to get fruit because if say in your original town has oranges and the other town has apples then you can go to the other town get the apples and sell them at Tom Nook's store (foreign fruit is worth $500) or you can plant them and grow more.

To travel to another town you have to have another town saved on a memory card in slotB Once you have a memory card with town data in slob (and ur normal town data in slotA) go to the train station and you will take a train to the town on the data in slotB

Its not really importing you just take the stuff you find there and go back to your normal town. dont turn the power off while your in anouther town what ever you do
