Hey I found otu that it is possible to catch one legendary dog in this game. Does it only appear in the islands?

The legendary dog depends on your starter

Bulbasaur-Entei
Charmander-Suicune
Squirtle-Raikou

It runs around in Kanto.

It appears anywhere but the island. If you choose Charmander as your starter,you will get a chance to get Suicune. If you choose Squirtle as your starter,you'll get a chance at Raikou. And if you choose Bulbasaur as your starter,you can get Entei. So it's pretty much you get the dog that has a type advantage over your starter

Once you beat the league and talk to Oak to get your pokedex upgraded one of the three(depending what Pokemon you started with) runs wild on the main land, NOT the islands.
