There are no 'cheats' as such for Pokemon Leaf Green. By this I mean no press up, down, left and you'll get soemthing.
But at Super Cheats we have an extensive collection of <a href="pokemonleafgreenhints.htm">user submitted hints</a>, <a href="pokemonleafgreenquestions.htm">questions and answers (members can ask questions too!)</a>, <a href="pokemonleafgreenwalkthroughs.htm">walkthroughs and faqs</a> for Pokemon Leaf Green.
Many aspects of the game are on those pages, registered users can ask questions, and if you visit the <a href="pokemonleafgreenquestions.htm">questions and answers</a> page you'll see that many hundreds of questions have already been asked - and answered!
Maybe your question has already been posted.
On the <a href="pokemonleafgreenquestions.htm">questions and answers</a> page there is a search facility where you can search for keywords, so if your question related the Mew, just type Mew in the search box and you'll get all of the questions already asked about Mew.
Further help can also be found on our <a href="http://forums.supercheats.com/forums.php?forum=501">Leaf Green forums</a>.
When you go north of Cerulean City you have to defeat five trainers before fight team rocket grunt that gives you a nugget. If you lose the battle and go back he gives you another nugget. His Pokemon don't gain experience.
To take advantage of this...
1) The most costly thing in game is Porygon in Celadon Game Corner. In FireRed you need 40 nuggets to buy the 9999 coins for Porygon. 26 is needed for LeafGreen for 6500 coins. All the rest of the Pokemon sold there is in the wild.
2) Use the battle to train pokemon. The first Pokemon is Ekans in which has 198 exp. Points. You do want to lose some life to it because the second Pokemon is a weak Zubat. Not best for training Geodude but for most Pokemon it is fine
You can catch any Pokemon with a Pokeball. When it has been thrown, and it closes before it has hit the ground, press A,B,X,Y,L,R at the same time to perform the master ball effect. If it does not work, simply try again. [NOTE- lowering it's health will always help]

The first you need to do when starting a new game is type in this gameshark code: walk through walls(509197D3 542975F4 78DA95DF 44018CB4). Don't continue the storyline yet. Walk through the trees and head to Pewder City. Pick up the pokeball and use the trees to head toward Viridian City. Bypass the unconscious man and enter the building leading to Viridian Forest. Save the game before you do the last step. Look in the grass for a Pikachu and capture it. If it doesn't work the first time, that's okay. Restart the game and keep trying until you get it.
This is my favorite cheat. You are going to need this code: 509197D3 542975F4 78DA95DF 44018CB4 (Walk Through Walls). If you have gotten past the Cycling Road, then it is easy as pie. If you do the Early Access to Safari Zone Cheat, then you might have a slight chance of success unless you captured a Pokemon there first. When you have a Pokemon and enter the building that leads to the Safari Zone, don't accept the challenge. Bypass the guards with the Walk Through Walls Cheat and get to the exit. Voila. You are there. Get into the grass and fight Pokemon because chances are, you will encounter rare pokemon. Don't go for Nidoran, Paras, Venonat or their evolved forms. Go for Rhyhorn, Tauros, Pinsir (or Scyther depending on version), Kangaskhan and Chansey. It is better when you get the Exeggcute and Doduo on the Sevii Islands because they are stronger there than the Safari Zone. Now you can fly out of the Safari Zone and you can also teleport out of the Safari Zone.
If you want to level up your Pokemon without using a quick level up gameshark code, here's what you do. I know several locations where you can level up your Pokemon before facing a certain gymnasium. Here are the locations you can train your Pokemon:
Diglett's Cave: A great place to train all grass and water pokemon. It is also a very good place to train flying Pokemon and Pokemon with the ability Levitate.
Pokemon Tower: You can train your flying Pokemon there too since most of the flying Pokemon are also normal types. The Pokemon Tower is also a great place to train ghost, dark and psychic Pokemon as well as normal Pokemon with dark moves since all normal moves don't work on ghost Pokemon and vise versa (except Confuse Ray and Curse).
Power Plant: It is best to have ground Pokemon with you because there are only electric Pokemon there and electric moves don't work on ground Pokemon.
Viridian Forest: Your very first training ground because not only can you evolve your Caterpie and Weedle twice into Butterfree and Beedrill respectively, but it is also a good place to train Pidgey and Spearow since they are flying Pokemon and birds eat bugs.
Abandoned Building on Cinnabar Island: Fire and Poison Pokemon live here as well as Rattata and it's evolved form Raticate. You need fighting Pokemon for Rattata and Raticate, water and ground for fire Pokemon, Grimer and Muk and psychic and steel Pokemon for Koffing and Weezing because poison doesn't work on steel.
Mt. Moon: This is where you can the most Pokemon types of all the places. That's because Zubat is weak against electric Pokemon, rock Pokemon, ice Pokemon and psychic Pokemon, Geodude is weak against ground, grass, steel, fighting, ice and water Pokemon, Paras is weak against other bug Pokemon, poison, flying, rock and fire Pokemon and Clefairy is weak against fighting.
Victory Road: Since most of the Pokemon you met earlier in the game are now high leveled and/or have evolved, this is the most difficult but more effective way to gain levels. For Onix and Geodude, you need water, grass, fighting, ground, ice (because it is also part ground) and steel pokemon. For Zubat and Golbat, you need electric, ice and psychic (because it is also poisonous) and steel Pokemon work against both bats as well. I prefer a Magnemite and Magneton for Zubat and Golbat because it is now part steel and poison doesn't work on it. For Machoke, the evolved form of Machop, you need flying and psychic pokemon. Ghost Pokemon also work as well because fighting, like normal, does not work on ghost unless it knows foresight and odor sleuth first.
Patch of Grass South of Pallet Town: This is my favorite location because the only Pokemon that live here are Tangela. Tangela is grass. So you need ice, fire, flying, bug and poison Pokemon as well as Pokemon with an ability Insomnia and Vital Spirit because it can put your Pokemon to sleep and steel Pokemon because it knows Poison Powder.
Here comes the popular Pokeball Scavenger Hunt from Ruby and Sapphire again. You need this code: 509197D3 542975F4 78DA95DF 44018CB4 (Walk Through Walls) and start a new game. Just like the Early Safari Zone Access Tip, go through the tree and head to Pewter City. The Pokeball is hidden in the ground on the left side of the museum. Get the Pokeball, head back to Pallet Town, stand in front of the grass heading to Route 2 and save the game.
We all know the starter Pokemon are Bulbasaur, Squirtle and Charmander. If you want a starter a different type before choosing one of the three, then this code is for you. It works for the Pokemon Leaf Green Version. If you have a working Fire Red rom for vba, then this code is for you too. Upon starting a new game, save first before putting in this code: 509197D3 542975F4 78DA95DF 44018CB4 (Walk Through Walls). This code is way different from the walk through walls cheat I have for Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire. Now with this, don't go straight through the grass heading to Route 2. Go a little bit to the right and walk through the trees and bypass Pewter City and Cerulean City heading toward Vermillion City. Go through the building and bypass the security guard and head to Saffron. Then go left and head through another building and bypass that guard heading to the Cycling Road. Now this is the most difficult part. When at the Cycling Road, you want to bypass all Pokemon trainers. So walk near the water because there are no Pokemon in the water at the Cycling Road and head further down until you reach Fuchsia City. Head to the Safari Zone and get the Safari Balls. Catch as many Pokemon as you want there until the time runs out. Now head back the same way you came until you reach Cerulean City, Pewter City, Viridian City and finally Pallet Town. Just stand in front of the grass leading to Route 2 and save.

Very easy. But you need gameshark for this.
Start a new game if you want to go with this cheat or if you are playing newly, good. Then do the basics.(choosing girl/boy..etc)
Now normally when you go near grass, oak stops you. Don't do that. Use the walk through walls cheat. Then avoid the grassy patch and go through the trees.Go to pewter city mart because in viridian city the person in the mart doesnt allow you to buy stuff before you deliver the parcel to oak. I hope you get all this stuff. Now in pewter city mart, go in. Now use the master ball cheat and buy how many you want because they cost 0 money!! Now keep going back through the route from which you came to pewter.
Stop when you reach a near grass. Now use any Pokemon cheat. Eg- If you wan't the heonn region Pokemon as starter, use the cheat which enables that Pokemon to arrive in the grass.
Now enter the grass and you will find infinite no of that Pokemon ie every time you invade a wild Pokemon battle, it will be that activated pokemon. Now use the master b and catch it!
Finally, go to pallet town and play the rest of your game normally as you would play from the start (de activate the cheats, go near grassy patch near pallet town exit, oak stops you...) :D
I hope it works because it worked when I did
(only for leaf green & fire red)
When you are in city azulona you have to buy a pokemon (porygon) then he buys another (porygon) you go to island quarta put them in the day-care center and a golden mew will go out for you WARNING: (only you it can do 1 time for new item that you do)
Do you want to catch something rare such as Tauros or Chansey in the Safari Zone, yet you keep running out of time? There is a simple solution to this issue.
Stand in the grass in the area that includes the Pokemon you want to catch. Lightly tap a direction on the D-pad. Your character should face that direction, but not move. Do that over and over, and you should run into a wild Pokemon. Do that until you find the one you want.
Entie- Beat the Champion and have Bulbasaur
Raikou- Beat the Champion and have Squirtle
Suicune- Beat the Champion and have Charmander
They will be roaming all over Kanto. There first movewill be roar to flee.
Okay, this chart will display what type of Pokemon moves are super effective and not very effective on Pokemon types.
Bug - Super Effective against: Dark, Grass, Psychic. Not Very Effective against: Fighting, Fire, Flying, Ghost, Poison, Steel
Dark - Super Effective against: Ghost, Psychic. Not Very Effective against: Dark, Fighting, Steel.

Water - Super Effective against: Fire, Ground, Rock. Not Very Effective against: Dragon, Grass, Water.
When I wanted to capture all 3 legendary birds (Zapdos, Articuno and Moltres), I couldnt do it without a masterball, but then I discovered that if you similtaniously press L+R+A at the same time every second from when the ball is launched, you will have a higher chance of capturing that pokemon. Enjoy, Hope it works for you!
