There are two different types of wearable equipment available for Jenn and Tristan in Young Souls. There is armor which will boost their stats and there is basic clothing which is just there for cosmetic purposes. Take a look at our Wearable Equipment Guide to find out more about this feature.
There are two ways you can swap out wearable equipment and basic clothing in Young Souls. The easiest of these two ways is to sleep, when you choose this option you will wake up in the morning and be taken to the 'Clothing' menu before you start your day. There you will be able to pick out an outfit of your choice for that day. However, before the option to sleep becomes available you need to have earned enough XP to level up. This basically means you will only be able to use this method of changing your character's clothes once per level.
The second method is to press the 'Menu' button on your controller to bring up the 'Pause' menu. Then toggle between menus using your left and right triggers until you find the 'Inventory' menu. From here, go down to the bottom of the list and select 'Equip'. At the 'Equip' menu you will be able to toggle between your armor and your cosmetic gear and swap out what you are wearing for other pieces of clothing you have acquired. Clothing is not gender-locked, so Jenn and Tristan can wear any piece of clothing. At the 'Equip' menu you will also be able to swap out sneakers which unlike basic clothing can grant you special perks. Sneakers can also be swapped out in the 'Armor' menu.
In order to change your clothes you must first have some to change into. You will be able to buy new clothing downtown, if you go past City Hall you come to a shop called Teen Spirit which sells shirts, pants, and hats. You will be able to find footwear by visiting the shop Solid Sneakers which can be found between the Happy Fit Fitness Center and City Hall. As you progress into the game the items available will update so be sure to check back often.
