In order to increase Jenn and Tristan's stats in Young Souls you need to pay the Happy Fit Fitness Center a visit and use a Happy Fit Token to play a mini-game that enables the siblings to boost one of three stats. This Happy Fit Fitness Center Guide will tell you everything you need to know about working out in the gym.
To use the gym in Young Souls requires Happy Fit Tokens, and they are not easy to get. You will not be able to purchase these gym tokens from vendors or find them in chests, the only way you can acquire them is by leveling up which takes place by resting in bed back at the manor. You will be rewarded with a Happy Fit Token every two levels, once you reach level 16 you will not be rewarded with another one until you get to level 19 (see below). This is ssentially a way of gating characters from becoming too strong for the upcoming dungeons.
Level 2: 1 Happy Fit Token
Level 4: 1 Happy Fit Token
Level 6: 1 Happy Fit Token
Level 8: 1 Happy Fit Token
Level 10: 1 Happy Fit Token
Level 12: 1 Happy Fit Token
Level 14: 1 Happy Fit Token
Level 16: 1 Happy Fit Token
Level 19: 1 Happy Fit Token
Once you have a Happy Fit Token you will be able to spend it at the gym on one of three activities, each of which will increase a particular stat. Benchpress increases your Strength stat, Cycling increases your Stamina stat, and Situps increases your Resistance stat. Once you complete this mini-game you will receive a rating, from one to five stars on how you performed. The higher your rating the more you will increase the stat you were working on. Jenn and Tristan can partake in the same activity but keep in mind that the siblings will only be able to do one activity per Happy Fit Token.
Benchpress
In the Benchpress minigame there is a target bar that raises and lowers and your objective is to try and stay within that target for as long as possible. You will find that the bar raises slightly higher with each lift which means to hit the highest peak you will need to mash the button on your controller. The rhythm of how the target moves does change, so you should be able to easily earn a high rating on every attempt once you become familiar with it.
Cycling
The Cycling mini-game works similar to the Benchpress mini-game. In the Cycing mini-game the faster you mash the button on your controller the further to the right you will move. You will find this easy once you have done it a few times and get a feel for how the target moves throughout.
Situps
When you do situps in the Situps minigame the target bar goes up when the button of your controller is held and down when it isn't. To get a high rating you simply have to hold the button at the right moment. Once you get familiar with the rhythm you will be able to follow the target easily.
