Listed below are several Beginner Tips and Tricks which will help you in Young Souls.
Make Jenn and Tristan Different
When you begin Young Souls the siblings will have similar stats, and they will continue to so as they level up. Every few levels you will be rewarded with a gym token which you can use to build Jenn and Tristan differently by playing a mini-game that allows the siblings to boost one of three stats. It is recommended that you make the characters distinctly different. Have one character nimble with high agility and quick weapons such as double daggers and make the other a strength-heavy character that wields giant weapons like axes. When to Swap Characters
Always try to prevent the siblings from dying, although they will be resurrected if they do die the procedure takes time. Make sure you swap out a sibling when they are about to die to avoid the delay. Another good time to swap out is when a character gets knocked to the ground, if you tag in the other sibling then you will be able to continue the battle.
How to progress through a Dungeon
The dungeon in Young Souls has branching paths that you can take and each will be blocked by the lack of an item or a key. Regardless of the route you decide to take it is recommended that you make a note of any chests you come across which you can't open when you enter a room as you will need to return there later in the game to retrieve the item in the chest. Make sure you take advantage of fast travel to return to places easily. The reason why you should make manual notes it because the in-game map only marks some chests on it while others it doesn't. Sell Loot at the Pawn Shop
There are two types of currency in Young Souls. They are human cash which can be used to purchase clothes in the above world, and goblin coins which can be used to strengthen the siblings for their dungeon crawling. There is plenty of loot scattered throughout the game which you can gather and then sell. Don't sell it back to the goblins for their goblin coins, it is more beneficial to sell it at the Pawn Shop to get human cash which is a lot harder to acquire than goblin coins. Take a look at our How to Make Human Cash guide to find out how you can earn this currency in Young Souls.
Check Pots for Hearts
keep in mind when you are fighting goblins in Young Souls that you can pick up objects that are lying around and throw them at your enemy, you can also throw an enemy at another enemy. Although you can throw the pots that tend to line boss areas at the enemy you should first check to see if they have a heart in them, which should be saved for when health gets low.
